As the largest power generator in Texas, Luminant employs more than 4,000 people across the state. We’re proud to be an integral part of the communities where our employees live, work and serve.

Statewide, our economic impact through payrolls, purchases, contracts, taxes and other expenditures is significant. Among the state’s largest property taxpayers, we contribute more than $110 million annually. In addition, we invest billions in construction of new power plants, development of new mines, environmental retrofits and other infrastructure improvements, creating new, high-quality jobs for rural areas of our state.

We are exceptionally proud of our employees’ generous support of their native and adopted hometowns. On top of Luminant’s philanthropic contributions of $1.4 million in 2011, employees pledged more than $600,000 in support of United Way and TXU Energy AidSM. Luminant employees also spend thousands of hours helping others, serving in myriad civic organizations and volunteering countless hours for the well-being of their neighbors and communities

Through Luminant’s program to empower health and fitness, employees are able to give back to community and philanthropic organizations while focusing on their own wellness. The program covers registration fees for employees to select running and walking events each month.

Luminant maintains a commitment to serve those who have served our country and is proud to take part in a national veteran mentoring program designed to assist veterans in their career development. Many of the military veterans employed at Luminant serve as mentors to new veterans as a way to help minimize the transition time to the civilian workforce.
